You have impressed me. Defied my expectations. Literally ripped out my heart, Elmers-glued a little glitter Newgrounds badge to it, then sewed it back into me.

I did not expect to see such a reception here for my game. As such, please review this below before we get to the winners:

I'm now going through the submissions for the Visceral Horror Fanart Contest. I'm taken aback by just how many submissions we received, and I wish I could give everyone a prize.

HORROR ART CONTEST

I'm holding a fan art contest for my upcoming horror game here on Newgrounds, VISCERAL: The Manor, which releases on October 1. RULES BELOW!!! Art must be fan art of the original game.

Art must be original, no AI art, must have a working paypal and . . .

My three favorite pieces will be getting prize money via PAYPAL in this order:

1st Place - $1000

2nd Place - $600

3rd Place - $400

RULES:

Art must be original, NO AI ART
You MUST post your art on Newgrounds as its own art post
Post the art as a reply here in the comments with a link to your newgrounds art post
Have a working paypal or I can't send you prize money
Most importantly, IT MUST BE FAN ART of the first demo of VISCERAL which you can play here to understand the world, lore and characters/monsters
ONE entry per person and account.

Winners will be announced October 1 around 8PM CST as a follow-up post AND I will DM you on here. You will not get prize money if you win but don't have a paypal and/or don't answer your DMs (as that is where I'll ask for your paypal info).

Good luck and have fun! I have no idea if anyone will even see or participate in this lol.

Visceral 2: Beta Testers Needed

Hey there handsomest people,

Chapter 2 is almost done, and it's coming OCTOBER 1 at 6PM EDT.

Before I release it here on newgrounds and on Itch, I'm gonna need a handful of beta testers who would be happy to play and simply let me know if you happen to run into any bugs.

I wouldn't say you need to bug-hunt or stress test. But enjoy the game, and if something seems wrong, let me know.

If you'd like to be a beta tester, please reply below. I'll message you when Visceral: The Manor is ready for testing.

Visceral: ABYSS MODE

Hey y'all,

Abyss mode teaser! What might this be? Feature Spoilers below!

ABYSS MODE

A never-ending gauntlet, but YOU get to build the map one node at a time. ALL placeable nodes are fuse-able as well, transforming nodes into brand new and empowered nodes to make your path and adventure truly your own.

Gain a heart for every gatekeeper destroyed, but gain a curse every 20 rows. Each permanently alters your abyss run.

Run out of nodes to place and you lose! But don't worry - Earn boosters as you go down with random node cards as rewards.

And this guy, Grabby, comes out randomly once every 15 or so rows to take two of your node cards and gives you one random one in return. Be careful! He might just make or break your run!

Are You Afraid? Visceral Final Demo Content Update

Hey everyone!

As I plan to finish chapter 2 as quickly and ferociously as possible, this will be the final content update (bug patches expected as needed). But it's a fun one!

Now, folks were saying some of the weapons were boring, so we traded out a few.

Surveyor's Rod (Replaces Rusted Pipe)

A better version of the Rusted Pipe that gains CHARGE and gets no lunge/distance penalty when fully charged.

Rune-Cut Fence Post (Replaces Trenching Spade)

A new cosmic weapon where every third hit is 100% accurate and hits even harder.

Thresher's Flail (NEW)

A cool realistic flail weapon you can whip back and forth like a psychopath. It hits twice, but the second hit is a guaranteed hit unless you toss it our into the dark.

Boltless Rifle (NEW)

One of my favorite new weapons. An extremely powerful single-shot rifle that hits hard as hell but you can only fire it once per turn. If you want to maximize damage per bullet, this is the thing to use.

Cosmic Bore Pistol (NEW)

Another new cosmic weapon inspired by Halo's Needlers. Fires twice per attack, impales the enemy with purple crystal shards, and those burst upon the enemy's turn starting for bonus damage.

ENTER THE RIFT

Now, every time a map is generated during a new run, a RIFT appears. Rifts are dangerous high-risk high-reward nodes where three waves of enemies appear one after the other for you to battle through. Make it out alive and you'll get a guaranteed rare omen and bonus viscera.

Rifts contain rift orbs which you can hit to get resources like items, viscera or ammo and doing so refunds 1AP. Use them to create a powerful rhythm every turn to prevent the monsters from devouring you.

NEW Chapter 1 Normal Monsters

For the sake of variety, I've created two new fun monsters for you to blast into little bits. These are common/normal monsters so they appear in regular battle nodes.

HAYBEAR

A knuckle-dragging abomination of hay and flesh combined. Speaking of combinations, if you let two of these alone too long, they will fuse together into a behemoth version! Be careful!

MULL

A lot of corpses lie under the soil on Vaughan's Farm, and something has to eat them. Leave that to the Mull - A mutant mole creature with its facial skin peeled off. It digs to move to prevent you from following it, and is blind like the Ooser. But in this creature's case, if you make too much sound it will do more and more damage!

Thank you all so much for enjoying the demo aka Chapter 1. I'll be back very soon, hopefully by the end of this month, with a full and ready Chapter 2 featuring new flashlights, blessing nodes, way cooler bosses, and more gut-wrenching story.
